We prayed for Your will to be done
That you please bless my womb
We made all requests known to You
This, we surely did do
But when I first felt that flutter,
Not one word I was able to utter
At least in the moment
The feeling so potent
But, there was a certain slowness;
the smile on my lips, pausing of my heart…
so hard to focus
And this woke me,
in more ways than one
That you will soon be on the way,
and we will not have all the words to say
Just know our love will never sway
Our baby, our little bundle of joy
It will not matter whether you are a girl or boy
It’s our love in God and His gifts to us
that will always be the joy
